Costa Rica has a lot to offer: Beautiful unspoilt beaches, tropical rainforests, the volcano Cordilleras (Cordillera Volcánica),coral reefs,native Indian reserves, and mangrove swamps.
It is a country full of contrasts, with an incredible diversity in its flora and fauna. More than one fifth of its surface has been declared a protected natural area, which is the largest percentage of any country in the world. The government has managed to introduce a gentle, sustainable tourism program which is doing it´s part to protect the natural surroundings that Costa Rica has to offer. Therefore it´s an ideal place for an ecologically compatible active holiday . You can: surf, go rafting, dive, go volcano climbing, take part in bike tours etc.or just enjoy the fantastic climate, the beautiful ocean, Native Indian markets, famous fiestas, museums or other culture sites but most of all the consuming happiness of the Latin American people.
SAN JOSÉ/ HEREDIA - LEARN SPANISH top
Heredia is located in the interior of Costa Rica, at an altitude of about 1.150m, in the beautiful Central Valley . Although it is just 11 km away from the capital San José, it has its very own, special character. Called “La Ciudad de las Flores”´( the city of flowers), Heredia is a green city, whose scenery is characterised by white, low level buildings with redtiled roves, uncountable towers and spires of the many churches. The city has a very easy-going atmosphere which is due to the many students who live there. Because of the very good public transport system it only takes 10 minutes to get into downtown San José, the capital.
Our partner school in San José/ Heredia is located close to the centre of the city, just a few minutes on foot. The modern building of the school provides ideal conditions for a fast learning process with its 14 bright and roomy classrooms split between three floors. On your break you can relax in the school garden and enjoy our free wifi internet. The bus station where you can catch the buses to San José and the Centre of Heredia is just two minutes on foot.
All teachers at our partner school have a university degree and years of experience in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. In addition they constantly receive further training so we can offer you the best teaching personal, which all helps to enable you to live and learn Spanish from the first day of the course.
Throughout the whole year there are private courses and mini-group courses (with an average of 3 students) available. We offer standard or intensive courses for all Spanish- levels, with 20 or accordingly 30 hours class per week. New courses begin every Monday- for all new levels.

SAN JOSE/HEREDIA - HOST FAMILY
During your language holiday in San José/ Heredia you can live with one of our familes in a a individual , furnished room with full-board or half board and laundry service. Living in a Host family not only means that you will be able to practise your freshly learned Spanish skills but also that you will learn a lot about the country´s culture. If you are travelling with a friend it is also possible to stay together in one home. Any special eating habits (e.g. vegetarian, allergies) should be declared in advance so that we can inform your hosts.
SAN JOSE/ HEREDIA - APARTMENTS
The spacious apartments have two to three bedrooms, a living-room with TV, a bathroom and a kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped(incl. washing machine) and is at the disposal of every flatmate –for the duration of their course. The rooms will be cleaned once a week including the change of bedclothes. Please bring your own towels. All accommodation has got its own garden and they are 10-25minutes walk away from the school.
The spacious apartments offer you comfortable accommodation close to the language school (15-25 minutes by foot). The centre of the city and all the shopping facilities are also within walking distance. The apartments have at least one bedroom, a living-room with TV, a bathroom and a kitchen with washing machine. Every apartment has got its own garden. Once a week the rooms are cleaned and the sheets changed. Please bring you own towels
We also would be more than happy to book the hotel of your choice. If you prefer to make your own arrangements it is also possible to book the language course without accommodation.

Every week the school offers a varied cultural and leisure program. We place a lot of emphasis on your learning progress during your leisure time so you can learn and practise Spanish, participating in different activities organised by the school. You have the possibilty of choosing between many different options: a sight-seeing tour in San Josè, local cookery courses, Fiestas, dance courses, visits to cinemas, museums, and exciting lectures.
Above all we organise interesting excursions to the areas surrounding San José such as the Pacific Coast, and the still active Arenal volcano , to the national park Tortuguero, or the wonderful waterfall at La paz, to do rafting or take part in canopying.
Participating in such activities you will not only learn Spanish faster in Costa Rica but also learn about its people and their culture and the city of San José.
